A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER
Our 2016 family reunion was a truly unforgettable event, bringing together 204 family members from near and far to celebrate our heritage, our bonds, and our shared love for one another. The weekend kicked off with a lively Friday night BBQ at Mike's house. With the smell of grilled food filling the air and the sounds of laughter echoing all around, it was the perfect start to a weekend full of fun and connection.
Saturday was another highlight, as we spent the day in the park soaking up the sun. The kids (and some adventurous adults!) enjoyed water play and plenty of swimming to cool off from the heat. The food was plentiful, and we all gathered for a picnic that seemed to stretch on for hours, surrounded by love, conversation, and joy.
As the day wound down, the fun didn’t stop. We returned to Mike’s house for even more festivities. The pool was once again the center of attention, but this time we added some dancing into the mix. The music was lively, the cake was sweet, and the laughter never ceased. We also took a moment to acknowledge the oldest member of our family, Kenny Ricketts, whose presence brought us a sense of connection to our roots. Awards were given out, and many family members went home with gift cards, a small token of appreciation for being part of this special occasion.

Sunday was a time for reflection and unity as we all gathered for church at St. John’s Baptist in Camden, NJ. It was a beautiful service, and we left feeling inspired and grateful for the family we are lucky to have. We closed out the weekend with a family brunch at the Penn Queen Diner in Pennsauken, where we shared more stories, laughter, and plans for next year’s reunion.
2016 was a year to remember, and the bonds we strengthened over that weekend will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to do it all over again!
